Dr. Zlotnick is a licensed clinical psychologist in New Jersey and New York. She received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from The University of Illinois at Chicago after graduating cum laude in Psychology at Cornell University. Dr. Zlotnick works with children, adolescents, young adults and families who want to make their lives happier. She specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to help children and adolescents who are feeling sad, irritable, frustrated, angry, or anxious.
Through therapy, Dr. Zlotnick works with families to help children cope with school, social, family, or health problems. In addition to CBT, Dr. Zlotnick incorporates other treatment techniques to best help you and your child (e.g., play therapy, interpersonal therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, family systems, and psychodynamic techniques).
Dr. Zlotnick also specializes in psychological testing and evaluation. Dr. Zlotnick conducts educational, psychological, and neuropsychological testing to assess for ADHD, learning disorders, executive functioning deficits and to provide information for diagnostic purposes. Dr. Zlotnick makes recommendations regarding treatment, school interventions, and standardized testing accommodations.
Dr. Zlotnick was in practice for several years at The Bartky Healthcare Center in Livingston, NJ before starting her own practice, Compass Psychological Services, LLC, in 2012. During her doctoral training, she completed a postdoctoral fellowship in child and adolescent clinical psychology at The Children’s Hospital of New York at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. Dr. Zlotnick also completed her internship at Kings County Hospital Center and has received training at several hospitals including The University of Chicago, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and Cook County Hospital. Dr. Zlotnick is currently a member of the American Psychological Association, New Jersey Psychological Association, and Monmouth/Ocean County Psychological Association.
